Well the odds of winning this give-away are pretty good, clearly many, many people had already read Daphne du Maurier’s Rebecca.

So here are the five potential winners, cosy in the prize draw hat.

I happen to know Deidre is participating in NaNoWriMo this month and doing very well, with more than 16,000 words written already. She wrote an excellent post summarising all the research and tips before embarking on this ‘Write a 50,000 word novel in November’ challenge, which you can read here.
She has a great blog which I love reading, especially as she lives here in France as well, so Rebecca will be travelling North and hopefully won’t distract Deidre from her writing endeavour!
Sorry to the other contestants, it was a close call!
Wow thanks so much Claire!!! this is the first book I’ve won and it’s one I’ve been wanting to read for a while. Thanks again for the encouragement with NaNo. It really is challenging but I’m enjoying it. I never thought I could write so much. I really have tried to put my inner editor to death, though at times it pains me as it tries to creep in.

It’s the perfect challenge for that great learning curve of a first novel, and interesting to observe what comes up, that tussle between the pushy inner editor and the more fluid subconscious. The Editor can wait!
Happy to be sending Rebecca up to you, I know you’ll enjoy it.

Congratulations Deirdre! Enjoy the novel – it’s one of the greats! Who could forget the opening line? Up there with Tolstoy’s first line in Anna Karenina. Love the cozy hat Claire! Now off to explore Deirdre’s blog post. xxx
